I've never worked in an office, it reminded me more of school. The boss being like the embarrassing teacher, and Gareth the geeky one in class instead of the geeky one at work.

I miss Ricky being on TV every week, I hope he gets on with his next show soon.

Some cool lists and how could of i forgotten about Brass Eye and the Day Today!

I agree with serafina pekkala, especially on Big Night Out, though the writing on the smell of was much superior Big Night Out is probably one of the most influential and important programmes of the past 20 years or so.

I haven't seen Kids in the hall, where can i see it? It's Canadian right? I think i read an interview with Eddie Izzard where he said how good it is.

And Two Pint of Lager and Packet of Crisps, i'm sorry, but i really don't like this show. It's ladism and matcho and cliched. I have to agree and appologuise to others that it is loathesome.

Ripping Yarns is hysterical, hope thye get it out on dvd at some point...Fawlty Towers is great and something you can show most people without them running for cover (British humor is, of course, completely lost on most Americans, I was really born in the wrong country for my own tastes).

I think Ripping Yarns is already out on dvd. They released it last year. :D I haven't bought it yet, but I'm planning to.

Ripping yarns is great stuff ...

I also love the film ANIMAL HOUSE!!! John Belushi, Tom Hulce, Tim Masterston and the guy from Babylon 5 (Flounder) so hilarious. But any John Landis film with a character called Greg Marmalade is bound to be good.- and i kinda *guilty pleasure  * fancy Niedermeyer. So wrong but i just do BOKEY!!!!! Its those tight pants and the buzz-cut hairdo like in The Right Stuff.

I haven't seen Kids in the hall, where can i see it? It's Canadian right? I think i read an interview with Eddie Izzard where he said how good it is.

Indeed it is young Jack - without KITH there would be no South Park, no Mike Myers and Mr Izzard would look much more attractive in lipstick. Next to the Kids he is 'homely' to say the least. You can see some clips at the comedy central website :

http://www.comedycentral.com/tv_shows/thekidsinthehall/

the rest you can get DVDs of 1st 2 seasons on import - for hardcore fans only i think cos of the prices etc.

Agree About Two Pints! Sorry!

My favourites are (in no particular order):

The League. Obviously.
Monty Python
Red Dwarf
Reeves and Mortimer (in all their incarnations save for Shooting Stars and Families at War)
Futurama
Simpsons
Malcom in the Middle
The Fast Show
SNL (Bill Murray/Gilda Radner, Will Ferrell, Dana Carvey eras)
Frasier
Father Ted
Black Books
Alan Partridge
Bottom
Blackadder
French and Saunders
Little Britain
Vicar of Dibley
My Family (sorry, but it's funny and I love Robert Lindsay)
One Foot In the Grave
Peep Show
The Office
Comic Strip
Sex and the City
Spaced
Look Around You
Ripping Yarns
The Royle Family

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure there's more. I'm a comedy junkie.
Hello my darling it's me again. Where are you?

It could get funnier if we keep doing it.

Some great stuff, Kids in the Hall, I love one sketch, 'Girl Drink Drunk' in which Dave Thomas develops an addiction to drinks with little umbrellas in them.

Anyone familiar with Second City TV? I don't know if that's something that's particularly well known in England (writing from the assumption that the majority of the people here are English). I have volume 1 of the fairly recently released tv series, pretty funny, very low budget but that is essential to the show, alot of characters over the course of things, although I wouldn't say that they were nearly as talented as LoG is presently in that regard. John Candy as Tattoo on a Fantasy Island parody humping a violin to pieces is pretty funny :)
