Have you seen Davis Bradley as the first Doctor? It's uncanny!

This was so much better than the godawfulness of the 50th episode!!

Agreed! The 50th was one of the worst episodes I've seen, and yet I have friends who friggin' swoon over it. These are people whose opinions I generally respect, so I'm left feeling like I'm living The Emperor's New Clothes. :P I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking it was awful.

I got very drunk and angry in the pub afterwards. No surprises there then... ;)

I was quite surprised too that quite a few people claimed to like it. I put that down to really trying to like it. I have a friend who did the same with Phantom Menace. "If you watch it ten times, Sarah, it really isn't that bad..."

People are strange.

That being said, I railed against certain elements of Dr. Who when they were knew. I couldn't stand Martha or Donna, and some episodes made me want to beat my head against a wall. Rewatching all of that recently, they weren't *that* bad. I even found Donna more amusing than irritating, and Martha was actually kind of a bad ass. So who knows, sometimes a rewatch brings about a perspective shift.

Doesn't mean I'm going to watch Day of the Doctor ten more times in the hopes of changing my mind about it, though.
