It's being slated, apparently... :?

I'll most likely end up going to see it anyway, though...

I reckon it'll be good.

Watched Brokeback Montain last night. Didn't realise it would be sad! Meh. Enjoyed it though.

Also re-watched The Prestige recently. Has to be my favourite film of recent years, apart from maybe Hot Fuzz. It's just so clever. Like Hot Fuzz actually. Clues in the script etc.

I luuuuuuuurved 28 weeks later. Yes, it's nothing like 28 days later but just look on it as a completely different film and it's good for it's own genre.

I'm seeing Indy this friday! Sqqqqqqqeeee! Don't care what the critics say. Ya boo sucks to the critics.
And I'll stay here till the trail's cold and return again with my meaty gold
You want it! You can't get enough of Hilary Briss and his special stuff...

It's 79% fresh on rotten tomatoes. Harry's review on aintitcool made me...oh alright. I'll admit it. It kind of made me well up a bit. Never realised how much Indy means to me- it's my Star Wars! And it looks like George Lucas isn't going to be raping my childhood, as Indy 4 might actually be totally awesome!

Eat that, Star Wars megafans.

Going with mates on Thursday, and I'm really excited. We spent the last two Sundays rewatching the original three, which has upped the enthusiasm even more. Gods, I can't wait! It's a quadruple treat as I never get to go to the cinema these days. No time and too bloody expensive. So this is a proper night out! :D

And I'm right there with you in the puddle of drool, Vipp. I have a renewed appreciation for the yumminess that was that man 20 years hence. Not so much these days, although I most definitely still would!

Oh, hee! At first I thought you meant "Harrison." That one would be a little tougher to scream (but I'm prepared to try, dammit!). Pathetically, I know a little boy named Harrison. I like talking about him just so I can say the name*.

*Plus he is the most adorable little kid on the face of the planet, and I include my own scrumptious nephews in that mix!

You could shout Harry quite easily. Thing is, if I was shouting Harry I'd be expecting someone shorter, black hair, and the most evil grin on his face. And I'd so call him Master in bed :D

You know a kiddie called Harrison? AWWWWWWW! *giggles*

See, that's the thing. "Harry" doesn't evoke the same eeeuuuuuggjgggashifasodfhasodifas that "Harrison" does.

Yeeeeeeah, Harrison is the cutest! He is a little person and is maybe five years old, so he's only a couple of feet tall with the little pot belly and chubby dimpled cheeks. My friend has a pic of him wearing one of those voice-changing Darth Vader Helmets and holding a replica lightsaber. He looks like Mr. Potato Head Vader! It's the cutest thing EVER!

I'd still tap that old a*s. He's a total GILF.

INDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why am I the first person to submit their review for this film? I never see *anything* in the theaters. Tara, you saw it last night, right? Get your arse in here and talk with me about it. ;)

Tinified:

I LOVED it. I am so critical, but I went in expecting nothing and was so pleasantly surprised. I'm not going to claim there weren't holes in it, but it's friggin Indiana Jones! It's not meant to be believeable. The Tarzan bit was stupid, sure, and am I the only one who noticed the weirdly forced perspective in the diner scene? Why in the hell did they make Shia look like a behemoth for that scene only? (But I suppose that's nit picky )

When the film started, I thought I was going to hate it. The car chase was too long and aside from setting up the era, it was pointless. When Indy first came on screen, I felt no thrill. He looked tired and emaciated and weak. It was only in the course of watching the film that I realized that was an intentional decision. Indy is older, he was tired and weak and possibly in a rut, and it was only through getting back to what he does best, having an adventure, that he was revitalized and rejuvinated. I loved that choice.

I loved the references to earlier films, most of which were pretty damn subtle. If I hadn't just watched all three I wouldn't have gotten most of them. I adored the fact that he was becoming his dad. The reveal of Shia being his son was seriously anti-climactic and kind of boring, to be honest. Who didn't already know it? Stupid. Blanchett's accent was silly, but no moreso than some of the accents in earlier films. And of course Indy pointing out its ridiculousness early on sort of made it okay. The ants were cuh-reeeeeee-py! I loved them! And weirdly, the part I should have had the biggest beef with, the aliens...? I was pretty much okay with them. When they first introduced the whole Roswell thing, I rolled my eyes, and the whole thing went a bit too Abyss for my taste toward the end. But on the whole, I really was okay with the idea of Indy verses the aliens.

Um...what else? (Sorry, half asleep, so this is probably all disjointed.) Oh, back to the Shia’s Tarzan bit, did anyone else catch the incredibly thinly veiled play on the Indy theme? I found it insulting, to be honest, especially given the rumors that they’re trying to package Mutt as a replacement Indiana Jones. (Accept no substitutes!) That’s Indy’s song. No one else gets to use it, not even his son! If Mutt had put on that fedora at the end, I might have had to punch someone. I think I literally cheered when Indy snatched it away from him. :D

I think that’s enough exhausted/hyper rambling for one post. If anyone could even follow the above, any thoughts?

It is my third favorite Indy film, but that's not a bad thing, considering Raiders and Last Crusade are cinematic brilliance. This one, imho, is *not* cinematic brilliance, but if you don't expect that, I think you'll have a lot of fun.

I never see anything in the theaters at all, and I want to go back tonight and see it again.
