*Falls over*
So yeah.... if you know, um.... GET ME DEAN IN A BAG AND SEND HIM TO ME NOW!
I love Bobby so much. I love his beard and his hat and his sighing and that he loves the boys and is their Dad in a not their Dad but is their Dad way.

(Keep having utterly filthy Dean dreams. Sigh. Don't want to get out of bed.)

So sad! UK Nova has been shut down. I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. Even though they tried to be above board, they were still facilitating streaming of content illegally, and most of me agrees that that is wrong. The rest of me, though, is sad to lose such a fabulous source of content which will never ever be broadcast over here. This includes such great stuff as QI, Dancing on Ice, Who do you Think you Are, The Great British Bake Off, Red Nose Day, anything with Vic and Bob in it, and so much more. Even Dr. Who won't be the same. It has started broadcasting in the US on the same day it hits the UK, but it is edited down to accommodate longer commercial breaks. Waaaaaaaaaaah! :(

Some stuff, often incomplete. For example, in the past, all that youtube has had for Dancing on Ice was a collection of a few of the better routines. Booooooo! QI is the one that has me really gutted.

I am morbidly obsessed with Man v's Food. I'm addicted. I think in my subconsciousness I'm waiting for him to keel over.

I got myself a Bluray player.
(Yes I am hideously pathetic and got it to watch The Avengers on).
It is beautiful and I have just been watching The Great British Bake Off on BBC iPlayer on it (it makes my TV Smart and I can go on the internet with it *squee*) and cos its all HD amazing the cakes looked so edible I drooled.

Now I can watch nice things all pretty like.

Oooo, I'm really enjoying the Great British Bake Off. I love that it's not just a competition show, but really educational, too. I only just discovered it, so I'm still catching up. I watched series 2 first, and am now in the middle of series 1. Managed to get the first two episodes of the new series (I think).

I haven't caved on the Blu-Ray front. I'm hoping DVDs will last long enough that I can hold out for whatever's going to replace Blu-Ray. If I can bypass one expensive technological evolution and save a bit o' cash, I'll be happy! It worked with the ipod! :D

Paul, I can be the same way with Man vs. Food. Mostly I'm disgusted by the gluttony and the waste and the bad example he sets for so many. But then it'll catch my eye as I'm flipping through the channels, and I can't help but stop just to see if he'll be able to eat that entire truck tyre-sized deep dish pizza and a side of chips in one go.

I couldn't tell the difference either. Liking the idea of it making your tv internet-enabled. How does that work?!

If you want to buy one to have internet on your telly then make sure it has wireless.
I put in my router password when prompted and now loads of stuff pops up on my telly asking if I want to use BBC iPlayer, 5Player thing, Youtube etc... It has a thing for LoveFilm (which I'd probably do if I was living by myself, my landlord eats the broadband in the evenings), I can do pay per view films, stream music etc...

I just googled 'Best Bluray Players' and a site came up with some really good advice. I then looked at the prices of the players I liked the look of and read the Amazon reviews to double check and made my choice.

I never thought I'd notice the difference but I was at a friends house and he showed me the difference between BBC1 and BBC1HD and it really was a big difference. My telly is HD but the Freeview isn't so I thought I might as well get a Bluray player to try to get the best out of it.

I know that sooner rather than later the next step in technology will come along but I was late to the DVD change from VHS and late to MP3 from CD. I'll only get a tablet when the Kindle Fire is released in the UK. I can never afford brand new technology (apart from the Kindle actually and I can't praise it enough). Plus Blurays are now the price DVDs used to be when I first got my DVD player and I earn more now :D

It has gone to Silicone Heaven
I had had it for over a year and a half and used it most days. I phoned the lovely Kindle support people at Amazon and they got me to try all sorts of things (they were impressed I had tried to much already, I had googled possible fixes for a while before giving up and phoning Amazon) but it had gone. It was the battery
Amazon offered me money off a new model but someone at work had a Kindle they never used and sold it to me. I'm not 100% happy with it, I think it is a very early model and it isn't the same as my baby *sniffs* but it will tide me over until the Kindle Fire comes out. Or so I hope!

When does the Fire come out in the UK, Katie? I hope you don't have long to wait!

In other news, I totally realize that asking the following question will likely make me look silly and ignorant, but I can't seem to help myself. Why, on the Great British Bake Off do all the fridges say "SMEG"? I'm guessing it's a UK manufacturer, but all I can think of is, um...nastiness. I wouldn't want to open any fridge door that was labeled "smeg"! :puke:
