I often work Sundays, it's evil. Everyone is in such a bad mood. On a happier(!) note I think the place I work is haunted. :?

I have a thing. I don't do sundays. I refuse. That's my day to go to the pub and watch Footie/F1 and see my friends and do pub quiz. It's MY sodding day.

I'm going to summon Satan to haunt my work place.

grrr, sunday working.

i hate it when it's my turn to do a sunday at work, but once i'm there i get over it. it's the most chilled out day for me (ie - i sit on my ass in the office doing paperwork - or as the staff say, i sit on my ass, feet up on the desk smoking big fat cuban cigars. i don't)

another annoying thing -

chavs and their chav mobiles. why do they think everyone wants to hear what shit music they are playing at full blast??? and as soon as they park up their pile of junk motor, the skankiest diiirty looking tarts huddle around swigging lager and shrieking like mad bitches. GGGGRRRRRRR.

God, yes! And even if they were playing good songs, they certainly don't sound good to ANYONE on a tinny mobile at the back of the bus! Aaargh!

I work every Sunday and it's starting to annoy me... *sigh*

Well, I've moaned a bit in the 'Annoying things' thread but thought I'd have aproper moan when I happened by chance upon this entirely more suitable thread. You see my job is not just 'annoying' LOL

I work as a medical receptionist/admin type person in a GP practice. One Dr is OK but a bit sullen, and the other is some sort of cretin! he messes about with the appointments so much that while we are booking them at 8am he is deleting slots/blocking times adding things on, turning them into 'emergencies only' and crap like that. Then he has the cheek to stand behing us while we're talking as say 'book into next week' 'what's the matter with them?' etc. Ergo it is US who look like bitches when we say we can't book appoinments

Gawwwd I'm so fed up of it. We are at least 3 members of staff down for various reasons...actually no, for one reason- Evil Dr! (lol, not Dr Evil though.) Oh and he treats the one nurse we have (should have two) like s*** and has her running around doing injections for his patients when she has a full clinic of her own sat waiting!
Phew, sorry for rant there, but I enjoyed it....

The perfect thread for me (even if it's a bit old):

I've moaned a bit about my job in "Annoying things" but this seems like a better place for it!

(I'm not gonna name anyone because knowing my luck, one of them will come on here)

I work in a (quite decent) solicitors as a secretary/typist, and it is THE most boring job in the world! I'm sat on my arse all day and somehow that tires me out :? I almost started crying yesterday because I was getting so depressed about it

I used to work for one of the women in the Conveyancing department but she already had 3 secretary's. Then a woman joined from another solicitors and needed a secretary, this is in the Wills/Probate department. I loved it for a while (conveyancing is so boring it hurts), but recently I've been feeling like I'm wasting my life!

I got pissed off the other day REALLY badly! The woman I used to work for sits in the next room to me, which I share with 2 of her secretarys and another conveyancers secretary.

Anyway, I was talking to one of the other girls and the woman came out to sort out her post and said "You've got a loud laugh Louise" so of course, that made me laugh, then she said "All i've heard this afternoon is you talking and giggling!", so I said "We're all talking, I just talk a bit louder than them!", then (and this is the bit that pissed me off) she said "I don't mind people talking, I just prefer it if they're working at the same time!" Seeing as at that very moment I was flicking through a file, how DARE she accuse me of not working, I nearly said something but I managed to bite my tongue!

I've been late to work every day for last few weeks because there's nothing to motivate me to actually go to work. I'm starting to hate everyone and it doesn't help when you find out people are talking about you. I usually manage to handle it when people talk about me, but when it's the same girls who ask you how you are and what you're up to at the weekend, and basically are really pally with you, it really does hurt!

Anyway, the point is, I really my job, but I think you've gathered that much.

If anyone wants to offer me a job, please do :D

PS: Hope this all make sense and sorry for rambling and sounding like a wet blanket! Just HAD to get this out!

(((((HUGS)))) I know how you feel as you can probably tell from my previous post  I'd offer you a job when i miraculously set up my own production company (errr...not gonna happen...) and you could laugh as loud as you liked :D ...feel any better now?

Jobs that I am actually motivated to apply for seem so very few and far between where I live so it's difficult as I can't afford to move out. Hey ho, I feel that a change is round the corner though...not sure what but I have a hunch :-k

Tinkerbell - I can completely empathise with you, working in a firm of solicitors myself. I'm enjoying it quite a lot at the moment as I've transferred to one of our other offices, but the one I worked in previously was pure hell.

People may think that having a law degree automatically makes them superior to you, but trust me, it doesn't!

I wanted to work in a solicitors for ages, but I've there over 2 years now it SO isn't what I tought it would be like. It's a dead end job, I'm not going to get promoted coz there's nothing to get promoted to!!!

So glad you people understand *hugs* :D

*hugs* I totally know how you feel!

For some reason the effects of my job have taken their toll on me a lot more this year than they did in 2004 (when I first started working there).

I work for a payroll company doing data entry/sorting paperwork and it is soooo bloody boring and mind numbing! It's quite technical as well, and I've always been more of a creative person...

I shouldn't compain too much, I'm only a casual so I'm not there every day, and of course I don't have to work weekends either. But what I hate about it is that it's just not "me". And I don't really seem to "gel" with the other workers either - they're either older ladies with kids, or younger than me and don't have the same sorts of interests.

It's becoming very depressing, heh... Sometimes I find myself hoping I'll get sick so I don't have to go in - how stupid is that?

All that keeps me going is the thought of the money... Great attitude  I just can't help it though...

I feel exactly the same as you do! I'm always hoping to get really ill so I won't have to go in! My job isn't "me" either. Sounds a bit daft, but I beleive in horoscopes and chinese signs and all that, and they tell you what job suits you, the following jobs are what "Tigers" should have:

Entrepreneur, Military Officer, Politician, Musician, Writer, Poet, Designer, Theatre Director, Stockbroker, Athlete, Film Star, Trade Union Leader, Company Director, Stunt Person, Explorer, Teacher.

Therefore, working as a typist is SO not suited to me!!!

 I hoipe I can do something more productive after Xmas!!! I want to go back to college.
