Exactly, we used to Health and Safety Area managers come round and do all this but everyone at that level was made redundant, as a result the unit manager has to do it. I have fitted more and more into my day that has been put on me and I now just can't fit in anymore.

I was waiting for a reply from my boss but it turns out he has been on holiday (glad *he* gets to have one) for the last two weeks. He is back Tuesday. I spoke to a fellow manager at another unit and he is really unhappy too, so at least I'm not alone.

I hope you can sort something out with all of this, it sounds like an absolutely horrible situation to be in :( It's definitely good to speak out about it though, otherwise the "higher ups" never know anything's wrong and just carry on as though everything's fine when it's not. And if there are other people who are just as unhappy as you are that can help as well.

A lot of the time they won't do anything anyway and just hope you don't kick up a fuss. Another way they try to avoid actually doing anything worthwhile. My dad became quite high up in the banking industry and he told me that the higher you get the less work you do. (Although to be honest I wouldn't want to sit in meetings all day which is often a big part of management work.) And obviously the more money you get! It's been proven to me in the fact that my boss got the severance package last year and I didn't. I was actually copied in to the email from the Head of Department by mistake. It said I couldn't go cos they needed me to run the thing. That just proves that managers aren't actually as important as the front line staff. It's more and more starting to make me sick. Some people at work put everything on the admin staff and do very little themselves, swan in whenever they want etc. Especially as I keep thinking about what I would have done with my money and time had I got it! Hum.

Yeah, I have kicked up a fuss but I don't expect much to be done to be honest. When I sent the email I had just cracked, I'd had enough. Usually I just plod on regardless. There just aren't enough hours in the day and I can't do my job what with all this pointless admin. There used to be people to do it at head office and they have all been redundant so people like me in operations have to do it now. It's all very well making time for a bit more and a bit more, but in the end there gets too too much and you can't fit anymore in. I almost resent the customers for wanting stuff and when it boils down to it the point of business is simply, to feed people.

Trouble is I'm conscious that I can't be too vocal as I NEED to work, I can't afford not to and If I tell them to stuff it I will find it impossible to get another job, it's hard enough now and I HAVE a job.

You can be vocal - they can't sack you unless you are offensive etc - but don't resign.

I'm finding work really hard at the moment. Although actually am finding today a bit hard too and I'm not in work! And I'm dreading going back tomorrow. Finding everything hard!

You will Kelly, just keep plodding away. The fact you are getting interviews and have more coming up is really positive. That means they're interested in you. You'll get something soon.

Erm, changable! It is good, today is probably not the best day to ask me as it's been a day where I feel useless and clueless all in one. So I will simply say it is far better than where I was, best thing I ever did. Thanks for asking.
