Obviously I'm upset to miss Mark (esp Scottish!!!) but I've been following the show so I'm annoyed to have missed an ep. Sure I'll be able to work out what's happened from next week's though.

Hmm, yes, I see what you mean about NSL, but RLS did have a consumptive cough, so perhaps the writers put that in particularly! And perhaps Mark got the job *because* of his skill in consumptive coughing! ;)
And I'll stay here till the trail's cold and return again with my meaty gold
You want it! You can't get enough of Hilary Briss and his special stuff...

Skills
Singing
Horseriding
Consumptive coughing

etc

Now, I think they should just leave it as it is. Although I'm sure there's mileage in it re the twins etc but they could end up spoiling it. But I do have faith in Stephen's writing. As long as he's doing it! I just wish sometimes that they didn't feel the need to recommission all successful dramas. Some things should stay as one perfect series (or as near to).

Stephen Moffat is amazing. I have faith in him :). I thought it was amazing how he did leave it as either a carry on into a second series or just leave it. He left the door wide open for himself
