Programmes

Post by alex » Sun May 18, 2008 9:14 pm

I saw this today. They ARE selling programmes - I got Reece to sign mine. He was quite charming about it. But he was dashing off ...had to be bold to stop him!

Did you enjoy the play Alex? What did you think of the performances?

I saw the first preview & was very impressed at how at ease the actors seemed in their roles. I thought Reece was brilliant as Nick - its quite a departure for him...its the poshiest role he's had & Nick is rather obnoxious - he plays him so well. The way his character ages very subtlely was really well done...

There were no programmes on sale that night & I was told they wouldn't be available until after the previews...glad they were available earlier on than that.

I really enjoyed the play - and I agree, it is a different role for Reece. he was very clever in how he made the character progress through the ages. I liked it because it wasn't over done. And yes he is unlikeable really - but he was made human by Reece I thought. James Dreyfuss was brilliant though _ I thought. really bringing so much to the role of Humphrey. The programme is nice - with some good pictures of the cast rehearsing I think.

Yes agreed, both Reece & James Dreyfus stood out for me, though all of the cast is good. Glad to hear the programme has pictures - not bad value at all for £2.50.

James Dreyfuss was GREAT! The play is REALLY sad and sweet an poignant as well as being a comedy. Fab combination. And with such a teeny tiny theatre you can see every expression on their faces.

I was surprised at how little Reece was in it. I'm sure no one else has mentioned that! And his poor voice! I hope he can keep that up.

Did they have all the photos on the walls when you guys went?

I'd definitely recommend going to see it and also make sure you go to the cafe and have the chocolate platter! The spiced chocolate ice cream is really lovely! :)

Nice Pics. Really big and good quality if you go directly to the image files rather than faff around with their inaccessible iframe system.

Can I ask where did you wait for Reece when he signed your programme?

When I went I didn't know where to wait...I'm thinking of going again & would like to try and ask Reece if he'd sign my programme. Did you just see him leaving by chance?

He was okay about signing the programme, wasn't he?

It was brilliant. Reece's part isn't massive, but he is fantastic when he is on and steals the scenes that he is in.

I think Richard Dreyfus stole the show (I've only ever seen him do silly ass roles) and Nigel Harman was a revelation! He can act!
