Its deliberate. They have put in material from the film which was cut by the British censor, but its terrible quality compared to the rest of the film, it looks like it was taped off Channel Five.

REALLY??? That was the stuff that is censored? I should have listened to the commentary shouldn't I? Does it explain about it there?

I've not listened to it. But I know from having the sold seperately DVD of it. It was advertised on the back that it was the full length 'continental' version 'but due to the nature of the recovered material viewers may notice a variation in quality of the film' (or something).

Oh cool. Thanks Stonesy!

One thing that struck me about the Tigon Box set - watching "The Body Stealers" - the first bit (with the empty parachute) it comes up:

GEORGE SANDERS and MAURICE EVANS in...

Maurice Evans???

I watched Witchfinder General last night. Its a cowboy film really. There isn't a commentary (Probably because most of the key players are dead) but there is an option on the menu to watch the original cut without the taped off channel five bits.

I LOVED W.G. It's so grubby and gritty. And violent! It's probably my favourite of the Tigon collection.

I've watched them all now. Virgin witch is the worst. I quite liked the Beast from the Cellar.

[Tiptoes into thread.]

I looked on Play.com for the BoSC DVD, & I've found it, but under the "special features" menu it doesn't mention anything about a commentary from the Gents.

Am I missing something?

Hi Bex. I think the LofG commentray is only on the DVD included in the boxset.

Annoyingly, I bought a copy of BOSC in a sale before I knew about the collection (it was reviewed in Empire but I must've missed it). Anyway, I took it back (shh!) and have ordered the collection off Play.

I finally got my arse in gear and listened to the commentary. It's f-ing hilarious. Awwwww, Stonesy's right, they should do commentaries for everything!

The nex day I had a weird cake craving, then I worked out why

Blood on Satan's Claw is suprisingly good. If you don't want to buy it, you could ask your 'local' library to get it for you?
I bought the set (mainly for the Gents) but I have the Amicus one too, and I love Horror films.

*hugs* thanks hun!

Limewire is not helping, everything by Marc Willaimson (or whatever his name is) just is a recording of someone being Bill Clinton.
